Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu & Kashmir

An austere Kashmiri woman from the Neelum Valley wears a traditional hand embroidered skullcap under her shawl. The Neelum Valley is a 200 kilometre long valley and runs along the Neelum River (known as Kishanganga pre-Partition). It is considered to be the most picturesque of Kashmir’s valleys and is famous for its scenic beauty, fir forests and waterfalls.
