SAYING GOODNIGHT TO THE QALANDAR
Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Shrine, Sehwan, Sindh
The door to the shrine of Sheikh Osman Marwand, a Sufi saint who is better known as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (Red Royal Falcon) closes after midnight. Lal Shahbaz Qalandar was given this title because he is said to have worn red robes and wandered the deserts in a quest for enlightenment as free as a falcon. The mausoleum complex was built in the 13th century and is visited by thousands of Muslim and Hindu devotees.
